Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Las Vegas Marks 30th Traffic Related Fatality

Sunday, February 25th marked 30 total traffic-related fatalities so far in 2024 in Las Vegas. A 20-year-old man took a turn too sharply around 5:20 am and crashed after hitting the curb. Our hearts are with the loved ones of the victim as they mourn his loss.

Sunday, February 25th, 2024, saw the 30th traffic-related fatality occur in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2024. In the early hours of the day, near the area of North Maryland Parkway south of East Bonanza Road, witnesses saw the motorcycle occur.  

Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicate that the motorcyclist driving a Yamaha R1 took a curve in the roadway at a high rate of speed and failed to follow the curb, leading to the crash. The 20-year-old man was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. 2023 was the second deadliest year in terms of traffic-related fatalities, with 386 deaths, with 2022 being the most deadly, with 416 fatalities.
